ARCHANA AND AMIT CHANDRA
Inspired by The Atlantic Philanthropies founder Chuck Feeney's "giving while living" approach to philanthropy, Archana and Amit Chandra, have become the torchbearers of new ideas and trends in India’s development sector. Their commitment to create an equitable, inclusive and sustainable society is embodied in the A.T.E Chandra Foundation which manages the philanthropic capital of A.T.E. Enterprises and their investments into the sector. The Foundation supports various projects and initiatives in its two core verticals of Rural Transformation and Sector Capacity Building.
Archana has charted a commendable professional journey from the corporate sector to the social development space. Currently she is the CEO of Jai Vakeel Foundation & Research Centre, one of the largest NGOs serving children who are intellectually challenged. She serves as the Trustee of SRCC, which in collaboration with Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited (NH) has built one of the largest paediatric hospitals in the country. She is also on the Advisory Board of Annamrita (part of the ISKCON Food Relief Foundation) and Antarang Foundation.
Amit has had a stellar stint in both business and philanthropy as the MD of Bain Capital and as the thought leader whose “portfolio approach” to investing time and money into a range of initiatives has helped advance and maximise the Foundation’s social impact. One of the founding members of Ashoka University, he has also been associated as a Trustee of the Tata Trusts, a Board Member of Give India (India's leading philanthropic exchange) and member of Advisory Boards of Bridgespan in India, the Centre for Social Impact & Philanthropy (CSIP), and Swades Foundation.
As Influencers, they lend their unique approach, valuable experiences and insightful leadership, which will accord rigour to the aims and actions of the group.
