GRASSROOTS ORGANISATIONS AND COVID-19
At the onset of the global Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, our grassroots networks have been the first to the rescue, quickly adapting their programmes to meet the needs of the communities on ground. From awareness-building activities, distribution of ration-supplies, cash benefit transfers and running helplines for migrants and women; our grassroots organisations have been innovating through rapid relief initiatives. However, we have seen our grassroots organisations suffer the maximum impact from the on-going pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
THE NEED OF THE HOUR – THE GROW FUND
The GROW (Grassroots, Resilience, Ownership, Wellness) fund is an initiative developed and promoted by EdelGive Foundation with the aim of building, supporting, and sustaining 100 grassroots organisations across India over a period of 24 months. In the context of the massive COVID related distress, the Fund will be used to give grants supporting:
- Organisation Building Needs
- Important Functions
- Future Readiness
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Manan Trust, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, A.T.E. Chandra Foundation, HURUN, BridgeSpan, Ashish Kacholia, a Private Philanthropy Partner, and a few more partners along with Edelweiss Group have lent their support towards this initiative.
Join us in investing resources towards building sustainable organisations, who can maximise their impact on ground and in turn enable a robust civil society in India.
