EducationLivelihood

The Light of Life Trust (LoLT) provides access to secondary level education to rural children while concentrating on the overall development of each child. LoLT’s Project Anando aims to reinstate school drop-outs in two of Maharashtra’s most backward districts: Nandurbar and Jalna. A three pronged approach is followed focusing on the "three Es", Educate, Empower and Equip – thus providing access to education and helping children realize their untapped potential and skills. Through workshops, special guidance, family and peer group support, LoLT has helped parents and guardians understand the value of education and the various social issues related to their community. Interventions with teachers in schools have aided improvements in overall education.

  • Funding the expansion of Project Anando into Jalna and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra
  • Syndicated other donors for co-funding Project Anando’s expansion into Washim district of Maharashtra
  • A senior Edelweiss employee has worked on helping LoLT with their financial projections for three years. This provided valuable insights to the LoLT team
  • Project Anando has successfully worked on reinstating rural school drop-outs and has reached over 2000 students in rural Maharashtra
